Cercle Odyssey, a unique series of immersive solo shows.
Cercle Odyssey is a series of live concerts enhanced by visual presentations. Similar (in concept – but actually more ambitious) to the Sphere in Vegas, this is a first-of-its-kind, epic 360-degree immersive nomad concert installation that is coming to the LA Convention Center in May, featuring performances by Moby, Paul Kalkbrenner, Empire of the Sun, The Blaze, and Black Coffee.
One of the key artists behind this extraordinary spectacle of technology and sound is Ridley Scott Associates filmmaker Neels Castillon. Together with his Paris-based creative studio, Motion Palace, Castillon spent the past year traveling around the world shooting the breathtaking visuals and helping to harness the technology that makes it all possible. Odyssey was created by Paris-based Cercle and its visionary Founder and Creative Director, Derek Barbolla. It is a towering celebration of art, music and nature, and the effort that went into conceiving and mounting the event is as epic as the experience itself.
Inspired by characters from Homer’s The Odyssey, Castillon and his crew embarked upon an epic journey of their own, filming around the world in the Namib Desert, Iceland, Polynesia and South America, where actor/dancers reinterpreted classic scenes from the Homer’s epic tale. The final experience is projected across five giant 50m x 12m screens, and all footage was shot and post-produced in 8K to preserve maximum detail and clarity. To capture the 360-degree perspective, Castillon and his team invented a groundbreaking 5-axis FPV drone camera, marking a major leap in aerial filming technology.

The result: a 20-hour film divided into 40 scenes, designed to play seamlessly across five massive screens (150 terabytes—enough for several feature films). Musical artists curated different scenes from the footage, meaning that every night a different version of the film will be shown. For pre-visualization, Cercle Odyssey partnered with Meta – using Meta Quest headsets – to edit content across the five-screen setup. Paris-based VFX studio Mathematics built the entire editing suite within the Meta headset.
Castillon was not only instrumental in bringing the visual experience to life, he also had a direct hand in bringing acclaimed musician, composer and DJ Moby on board.
Cercle Odyssey kicks off April 23–27 in Mexico City, then arrives in Los Angeles in May 2025, before heading to Paris for shows May 28-June 1. Purchase tickets here.
