The exhibition is also open for the Downtown Artwalk of March 7th, 6:30 – 9 pm.
Brown and Montealegre have gathered strong women artists who contribute significantly to the West Coast art scene. A curator’s talk and an artist panel will be scheduled that will highlight the topics that concern this select group of multi-cultural artists as they approach their work and their contributions to the art world in their inimitable styles.

I’m also in the Lust and Love exhibit sponsored by Lela International now showing at THE MAKERY, 260 S. Los Angeles Street. After Glow Me, is featured, 44″ x 70″ oil on canvas. In this work, I address the classic maha, which were often contessas and baronesses who posed for many of the male art masters. In a space/time continuum, I approach this subject from the viewpoint of the woman. It’s not about how she looks. The depiction is of how she feels. Through Feb 29, 2024.
It was an honor it was to sing an original participatory song involving the community of artists and residents to introduce the curator. What I want to say is that all the work was profound. And the words that artists shared about their work was affecting. The community showed up & the exhibit was well received. It was an experience like coming home.
This painting depicts the artist in the process of self healing. Featured at Whatcom Museum and previously honored at the Weho Festival in Plummer Park.

144 Artists from all over the country were chosen from more than 1500 applicants. Their work was meant to portray Healing and Repair as a verb, an action word. Essentially underlining that love is an act, not mere thought.
