About this event:
Join Arts Bridging The Gap, Hollywood PAL, Ovation Hollywood, Wood & Vine, and Broadway in Hollywood for a street art festival + block party in the heart of Hollywood on Sunday, May 22nd! Generously supported by Forever 21, United Streets of America aims to enliven Hollywood with creativity and joy.
Together, we are shutting down Hollywood Boulevard for an afternoon of interactive art, live performances, music, and more.
The BACKSTORY: In Summer 2020, businesses in Hollywood boarded up their storefronts to ward off looting and vandalism. Arts Bridging the Gap collaborated with its Hollywood partners, local artists, and young people from the community to paint these boards in an effort to bring color, creativity, and hope to the national dialogue. Hundreds of citizens participated in this public art experience, and it so happened that the day the group were painting was the same day 50,000+ people came, to the exact same intersection, to participate in the largest peaceful protest that summer.
These boards became exquisite, meaningful pieces of public art, and we are sharing these pieces now to inspire new, expanded conversations about how we can build a more equitable, inclusive future for all.
The United Streets of America block party is inviting people back into the community; to prompt new and rekindle old connections, as well as spark much needed joy! Come experience many of the original board artworks, engage with the live painting artists, contribute to collaborative art pieces and enjoy delicious food from our local restaurant partners, including Wood+Vine, L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele, Gwen, The Breakfast Club, Fabiolus Cucina, St. Felix, Food & Bounty, and the Dudes’ Brewing Company. You can purchase your food tickets in advance here, or on the day of.
$5 single ticket — One item from any of the 8 restaurants
$50 Tastes of Hollywood Wristband — Good for one item from each restaurant and comes with 2 drink tickets
