Keeril Makan and Jay Scheib: Persona

at REDCAT

Thursday, November 9, 2017 to Sunday, November 12, 2017

Presented with LA Opera

Based on Ingmar Bergman’s classic film, Persona is a provocative and artistically complex depiction of human frailty, cruelty and identity. In an isolated summer house, a young nurse becomes caretaker of a stage actress who has suddenly lost the ability to speak. The deepening layers of their unsettling relationship unfold in a taut psychological drama, revealed through a unique aural landscape and a richly layered production. Composed by Keeril Makan. Librettist / Director, Jay Scheib.

Running time is approximately 90 minutes, performed without intermission.

Each performance will be followed by a post-performance talkback with the Persona creative team.

Special Event:

Fri, Nov. 10: After Party included for ticket holders 21yrs and over.

Enjoy small bites, drinks and live DJ hosted by LA Weekly.
