Touted as LA”™s premier tequila destination, El Carmen Restaurant celebrates “˜Dia de los Muertos”™ with a November 2nd event, from 8:00pm until 2:00am. This event will feature *live* Mariachis from 9:00pm to midnight in addition to food and drink specials – including El Carmen”™s famous Classic Margaritas ($4.00 each!) and $3.00 Tecate®.

In keeping with the celebration, El Carmen”™s employees will have their faces painted – “Dia de los Muertos” style. Any guests who arrive in a “Dia de los Muertos” costume and/or with their faces painted for the occasion will receive a Limited Edition El Carmen T-shirt (while supplies last).

In most regions of Mexico, November 2nd marks the second day of the two-day celebration of Dia de los Muertos and is the day on which deceased adults are traditionally honored and celebrated. Dia de los Muertos is a time-honored tradition at El Carmen and is also one of the only celebrations of its kind in the neighborhood.

El Carmen”™s November 2nd event also coincides with the venue”™s 15th anniversary, which marks the third of MacPherson”™s Los Angeles establishments celebrating a 15th birthday in the past year. In November, El Carmen will join two of its sister locations – Jones Hollywood and Good Luck Bar – which both celebrated their 15th anniversaries in the fall of 2009.

El Carmen was a pioneer on Los Angeles”™ agave front and still remains one of the city”™s foremost tequila haunts. The venue currently houses more than 400 tequilas and mescals. In addition to its under-the-radar happy hour – officially called “Hora de Fiesta”El Carmen hosts quarterly tequila tastings led by some of the world”™s top tequila authorities and mixologists.

El Carmen is located at 8138 West 3rd Street (between La Jolla Avenue and Crescent Heights Boulevard), Los Angeles, CA 90048. Valet parking is available.

El Carmen is open Monday through Friday from 5:00 PM to 2:00 AM; Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 PM to 2:00 AM.

El Carmen”™s “Hora de Fiesta” runs Monday through Friday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

For more information about the venue, the quarterly tequila tastings, the November 2nd event, or to make reservations, please call El Carmen at 323.852.1552.
